CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS
Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, Phi Mu inspires its members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy and ambition, and to always strive for excellence.
Phi Mu is the only sorority to be a corporate sponsor of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). Supporting 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide, Phi Mu has raised over $8.5 million since 1986, improving the quality of life for children everywhere.
Our signature fundraising event for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is Bonnamu. We raise funds and awareness for CMNH through a battle of the bands competition. In 2019, we raised over $45,000 for CMNH during Bonnamu! This year Phi Mu was the top fundraiser of UADM, a student organization that also supports CMNH, by raising a total of $20,677.
Throughout the year we participate in philanthropic events to support CMNH, other Greek organizations, and the Tuscaloosa community. Our girls serve the local food bank, YMCA, Best Buddies, Read Bama Read, Al's Pals and much more.
A LETTER FROM OUR PHILANTHROPY OFFICER
Ever since the Philanthropy Round during rush, I knew I wanted to be the Philanthropy Chair. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals have been a part of my life since I was a little girl and I am so blessed to be a part of Phi Mu and be able to help in any way. I organize activities for our chapter to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and spread awareness. Our annual fundraiser, Bonnamu, was one of my favorite events of the past year. Bonnamu is a small music festival that allows students to come and enjoy food, music, and fun! Phi Mu is working hard to fundraise and provide for CMNH even during the pandemic. I am proud to say that Phi Mu Alpha Zeta raised $93,990.70 for CMNH in 2019.
